The "why" behind the Blackstock Beauties Blog

Embarking on this journey has been a longstanding desire of mine, one that I've contemplated starting multiple times since 2021 when my identical twins entered the world. Now, nearly three years later, I am thrilled to finally bring it to life!

Hello, I'm Bianca, and welcome to my lifestyle and parenting blog. Both my husband and I serve in the active-duty Air Force. We crossed paths in 2014, had a secret marriage in 2015, publicly tied the knot in 2016, and welcomed our first child in July 2018.

I used to believe that motherhood wasn't for me, as I didn't consider myself great with kids. However, when I discovered I was pregnant while deployed (yes, you read that right), we had to come to terms with our impending parenthood. As the pregnancy progressed, I eagerly awaited the arrival of our daughter. I'll delve deeper into my pregnancy experiences, losses, and the joys of raising children in future blog posts. For now, I can confidently say that Elaina changed everything for me, transforming my desire from not wanting kids to wanting a minimum of three.

The love I discovered for being a mom was undeniable!

Fast forward to 2020, having just earned a promotion to E-6, we were actively trying to expand our family. However, news of a military assignment for my husband led us to pause our efforts in July. But, as life would have it, we received a positive test shortly after. Our excitement grew as we learned we were expecting Monochorionic Diamniotic (Mo-Di) twins, both girls.

In 2021, my husband and I joyously welcomed our twins at 35 weeks and 5 days. They spent 12 days in a nursery before being released to us, making it a challenging period that nearly broke me. My heart goes out to all the mothers enduring weeks in the NICU. My identical twins are as identical as they can be, and they resemble their older sister. We playfully say we liked the first one so much that we decided to copy and paste, although the twins have blonde hair while their older sister is a brunette.

Now, why the blog?

In creating this blog, I've been inspired by the countless individuals who have expressed their fascination with twins. It's heartwarming to hear from those who dream of having twins themselves or those who simply admire the unique journey my family and I are on. This platform is dedicated to each and every one of you.

For those who have shared their dreams of having twins, I want this blog to serve as a source of inspiration and insight into the beautiful, albeit challenging, world of raising multiples. I aim to provide a real and candid look into the joys, struggles, and the myriad of experiences that come with parenting twins. Through our stories, I hope to offer a glimpse into the laughter, love, and chaos that defines our daily lives.

To those who express admiration for our journey, I extend my heartfelt gratitude. Your support fuels my desire to share our adventures, creating a space where we can connect, learn from each other, and celebrate the unique aspects of parenting that bind us together. This blog is a testament to the strength, resilience, and joy that can be found in navigating the twists and turns of raising multiples.

So, whether you're a parent of twins, someone intrigued by the prospect of having twins in the future, or simply an individual who appreciates the diversity of family experiences, this blog is crafted with you in mind. Join us on this journey, and let's explore the fascinating world of parenting, laughter, and love that comes with having kids.
